Chronic Cough

A chronic cough is a cough that lasts for 8 weeks or more. It’s usually caused by an underlying condition, such as allergies or heartburn, and usually goes away after the condition is treated. Causes may include: smoking, allergies, medications, asthma or heartburn. Consult your doctor if you are: coughing up phlegm, sneezing, running a temperature over 101F, have night sweats or are coughing up blood.
